The NGL gives your British Gymnastics club everything it needs to become a successful, best-in-class Gymnastics Club — through one connected Framework.
That Framework works at two levels: the Club Framework, connecting training, awards and competition into one experience within your club; and the National Framework, connecting every NGL club nationally so gymnasts, coaches and parents get that same consistent experience wherever they go. That consistency is what will make the British Gymnastics brand stronger at every touchpoint — in the club and across clubs.
It starts with a Club Framework built around 7 gymnastics pathways spanning every age and ability.
Each pathway is backed by its own Awards Scheme or Skills Progression Tracker, so progress is tracked consistently and clearly integrates from one pathway to the next — a single journey for every gymnast, at every club.
That training is then put into action through a national network of NGL competitions and festivals.
Wrapped around all of it is the Club Support Structure, giving NGL members exclusive access to deals and group-purchasing power across the 5 Pillars of a successful club.
And it's all underpinned by industry-leading technology — remote judging, live league tables, spectator apps, and much more — the same standard, delivered everywhere.

The National Gymnastics League (NGL) exists to make British Gymnastics clubs the first choice for every parent.
We believe that great clubs are built on more than performance alone. They are well run, well coached, people-centred, sustainable and connected — and when clubs are better supported, everyone benefits.
The NGL was launched with a focus on competitions because competition is one of the most visible and influential parts of the gymnastics experience. However, competition is not the end goal — it is one of the ways we deliver our wider vision.
-
NGL’s long-term strategy is focused on making better clubs through shared expertise and best practice across five key areas.
Operate Better
Finance, IT & systems, governance and administration — creating strong foundations and reducing pressure.
Coach Better
Training, workforce development and technical leadership — investing in the people who deliver the sport.
Care Better
Human resources, safeguarding and customer experience — putting people first, always.
Grow Better
Sales, marketing and programme development — building sustainable, future-ready clubs.
Connect Better
Inter-club collaboration, shared learning and partnerships — strengthening the gymnastics community.
-
Competitions are the first delivery mechanism NGL is launching with because they touch multiple pillars at once.
Through well-designed competitions, NGL is able to:
Demonstrate consistent systems and processes (Operate Better)
Support coach development through clear standards and data (Coach Better)
Create positive, safeguarding-aware environments (Care Better)
Improve retention and visibility (Grow Better)
Bring clubs together nationally (Connect Better)
This allows clubs, gymnasts and parents to experience what better looks like, not just read about it.
Why Change Is Needed
Gymnastics competitions — and the wider club environment — face several long-standing challenges:
Inconsistent competition quality and standards
Overlong events and unnecessary travel demands
Difficulty recruiting and deploying judges
Limited data to support development over time
Heavy administrative burdens on clubs
The NGL responds by delivering competitions that are consistent, local, well-run, data-led and people-centred — while using those experiences to inform wider best practice.
More Than a League
The National Gymnastics League is more than a competition series.
It is a growing framework for collaboration, shared learning and continuous improvement — with competitions as the starting point, not the destination.
